Equipment

  • Highball or rocks glass
  • Jigger or measuring shot glass
  • Bar spoon or long teaspoon
  • Small saucepan (for syrup)
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Ice tray or bag

Ingredients

  • Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka or any lemon-flavored vodka
  • Blackberry syrup
  • Soda water or Sprite Zero for sweetness
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon wedge or slice
  • Fresh blackberries optional
  • Mint sprig optional
  • Fresh or frozen blackberries
  • Granulated sugar
  • Water
  • Lemon juice

Instructions

  • Prepare the blackberry syrup (if homemade): In a small saucepan, combine blackberries, sugar, water, and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally for 10-15 minutes until berries break down. Strain through a fine mesh sieve, pressing to extract juice. Cool completely before use. (Makes about 8 oz; store extras in the fridge.)
  • Chill your glass: Place a highball or rocks glass in the freezer for 5 minutes or fill with ice to cool it down – this keeps your drink icy cold.
  • Add ice: Fill the glass halfway with ice cubes for that refreshing chill.
  • Pour the vodka: Measure and add 1 oz of lemon vodka over the ice.
  • Add blackberry syrup: Pour in 1.5 oz of blackberry syrup for that signature sweet-tart flavor.
  • Top with soda: Slowly add 3-4 oz of chilled soda water or Sprite Zero, leaving room at the top to prevent overflow.
  • Stir gently: Use a bar spoon or long stirrer to mix lightly – don't over-stir to preserve the bubbles.
  • Garnish and serve: Squeeze a lemon wedge over the top, then drop it in. Add blackberries or mint for extra flair. Enjoy immediately!
